In my spare time I am a writer, musician, festival goer, and I serve on the boards of two non-profits: Wildlife Madagascar, and the San Diego Collaborative Arts Project.

My career

2009 — Hired by Stone Brewing Co.

I was honored to be chosen to help Stone Brewing launch their foray into the world of social media. I still miss the free beer benefits!

2010 — Hired by the San Diego Zoo

2010 was still the early days for social media, and I was brought on to help the San Diego Zoo launch their social media program. I look back very fondly at my ten years at the Zoo.

2012 — Launched the San Diego Zoo Safari Park

The Wild Animal Park was rebranded to the Safari Park, and I helped launch the rebrand and the social media program for the park.

2015 — Launched #Rally4Rhinos

One of the proudest moments of my career was the Zoo’s #Rally4Rhinos campaign. It was to raise awareness of rhino poaching and in honor of the Zoo’s resident rhino, Nola. At the time, Nola was one of only seven northern white rhinos left on the planet. The campaign went viral and trended nationally on Twitter.

2020 — Viral TikTok Success

In the midst of the pandemic lockdowns, our team rose to the occasion and doubled our output—including being invited to participate in TikTok’s #LearnOnTikTok initiative—which awarded the Zoo $75,000. On top of that, we published viral hit after viral hit and made TikTok’s annual list of “Brands that Inspired Us.”

2021 — Hired by Taylor Guitars

As a longtime guitar nerd, it was a great privilege to be brought on at Taylor Guitars to lead their global corporate social media presence. Taylor is the world’s largest acoustic guitar manufacturer operating in 67 countries globally, and innovates not only in guitar making but also ethical sourcing and sustainable manufacturing.

2024 — Hired by Yamaha

Continuing my journey in the musical instrument manufacturing industry, I left Taylor Guitars and assumed the role of Digital Media Manager for Yamaha Corporation of America. Yamaha is the biggest manufacturer of musical instruments in the world, and I helped them navigate the world of paid social and paid media. I managed millions of dollars of budget to help 11 category teams achieve their paid media goals.
